The Liverpool curb bit is a classic driving bit and is often used because of its numerous buckling possibilities. The curb bit comes with a slight tongue clearance and long suits. The tongue clearance provides optimal space under the bit and distributes the pressure excellently over the entire horse’s mouth. Due to the long suits, there is a greater leverage effect, which is why the pressure on the neck is increased. However, since the lever’s path is longer, given aids only start “delayed”, which is why their use requires an experienced hand.
